課程概述

This course is designed to explore the craft of theatre directing within the context of contemporary theatre making, focusing on the practical and theoretical work of some Euro-American theatre directors who have significantly shapped the Western theatre of the twentieth century. We will look at their immense achievements and continuing relevance to modern theatre. 

課程目標
 1. To provide an introduction to the academic study of theatre directing.
2. To encourage a critical knowledge of contemporary directing approaches.
3. To encourage a critical understanding of six theatre directors and their practices. 
課程要求
 有關上課出席率規定
1上課遲到一次扣學期總成績一個等第，遲到超過15分鐘則視為曠課，曠課一次扣學期總成績兩個等第，遲到最高上限為3次，3次以上則學期總分以零分(X)計算。缺課最高上限兩次，兩次以上學期總分以零分(X)計算。公假或事假需於每週上課前請假報備，病假則需於下次上課時檢附醫師證明。

有關作業評分規定
1、 所有課堂作業必須準時繳交，遲交一天扣該作業成績一個等第，遲交超過三天則一律以零分(X)計算。
2、 所有課堂作業一律以書面型式繳交，12字型，double space。
3、 所有分組呈現或口頭報告成績，除實際表現外，也會根據組員互評來給分。

此外，1、積極參與課程討論；2、需花費課堂額外時間進行分組作業及排練；3、需具備閱讀英文教材的能力
